FairCoop gathering June 25th 2016
FairCoop is an open global cooperative that organizes itself through the Internet outside the boundaries and controls of nation-states. FairCoop aims to issue an alternative global economic system based on cooperation, ethic, solidarity and north-south redistribution and justice in economic relations.

This event will serve as a networking as well as a workshop day, and offers an opportunity to introduce new people and groups to FairCoop.

Introduction to Faircoop

At the beginning of Saturday afternoon around 14:00 we will provide an introduction to FairCoop to people that are new to the topic.

Workshop topics we will work on throughout the weekend:
  • Defining and organising concrete steps to actively provide the services of a local node.
  • Discuss which structures and concepts can best serve the need of people in economies and regions like ours here, which is very different from the situation in Spain and Greece.
  • Finding and collecting the synergies of the various FairCoop projects and concrete local projects we are working on and define steps to activate these synergies.
For which other tasks / to do items should we use this opportunity to be able to all work on it together (like a bit of a hackathon or something?)

Networking opportunities:

Beyond the 25th, we feel the workshop topics above are a prerequisite for reaching out to a much larger group of projects and networks. Of course, we have been talking to people and are happy for anybody to join at this stage, but results on the above topics will motivate more groups to consider joining.

To which groups/people should we reach out particularly? (apart from the people we reach with our newsletters and social media)

What could we do to draw out synergies between the different participants and the opportunities to bridge them with FairCoop?

For those that want to, it is easily possible for people to come a day earlier or stay over until the next day. There are rooms/beds available.

Online participation:

The best time for meeting online for some time with people that would like to join but can't be at the Décentrale that weekend would be Saturday from 15:00. We'll be using this zoom room:
